About

The Chickasaw Nation Summer Youth Program provides workforce training and experience to encourage productive work patterns and behaviors for a variety of careers.

You Provide
  • Tribal citizenship card
  • CDIB/ tribal letter
  • Social Security card
  • Driver’s license, photo ID or photo 
  • Letter of acknowledgement from Selective Service or signed request form to receive number from Selective Service
  • Achievement test scores or last report card or transcript
  • Verification of residence (rent receipts, utility bills, etc.)
  • Income verification (check stubs, benefit letters, etc. for the last six months) for anyone 18 and over
Eligibility
  • Must be between the ages of 14 and 21
  • Must reside within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries
Other Info

Experiences may include job shadowing, mentoring or similar activities designed to give youth leadership and work experience related to tribal operations, health system, business or service in the non-profit sector. All paid employment will be no less than the applicable federal or state minimum wage. Experiences will include employment in a variety of trades based on the student’s future goals and interests. Students may also be tutored in math and reading to improve their skill level and better prepare them for future employment.
