The science, math and technology program was formed to introduce elementary through high school students about the opportunities available in the science, math and technology fields. Students six years of age to high school seniors have the opportunity to be involved by becoming part of a FIRST team.

The teams are formed through a national organization called FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs. Through FIRST, students gain engineering and technology skills, inspire innovation and develop self-confidence, communication and leadership skills.

Students ages six to eight can participate in the FIRST JR. LEGO League, students nine to 14 can participate in the FIRST LEGO League, freshman and sophomore students can participate in FIRST Tech Challenge and students 15 to 18 can participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

For more information about the science, math and technology program, contact Oscar Gore (580) 272-5579.
